L.O.D.

This is more of those fall pic's that Lenyse took last year, I have to say again-I love the light she got for these. (Note to self-ask her what time of day these were taken.) Enjoy!

Clear Acrylic Album

KU clear acrylic album

This will be the LOD, as well as a birthday present for Chase. Kind of hard to tell but the front and back covers are clear acrylic with white paint around the edges and two or three of the pages in the middle are also clear acrylic. I still have to add the journeling but I didn't quite get that done before his birthday, so I will add it when I get a chance. It is my first clear album and I love how it turned out-hoping he loves it too! OK, so after I edited this with my comments the slide show wouldn't come up, so I will remove it from this post and re-post it by itself. :)

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy

My baby turns 14 years old today. Where has the time gone? Seems like just yesterday you were a baby, I would hold you in my arms and shower you with sweet kisses. As much as I miss those days, I am so proud of the young adult you have become. Smart, sensitive, funny, a good student, passionate for life- I could not ask for a better son.

I wish you the best life has to offer!
Love Always, Mama.

L.O.D

Are you getting tired of these yet? I hope not ;) Lenyse took her kids to the park last fall and got some really awesome shots! I love the lighting, and they are pretty candid for the most part. (my favorite kind of pictures) I have always been drawn to the combination of orange and blue so this layout makes me happy inside! Well, until tomorrow-yep that's right, I will be hauling my happy a** in to work, snow or not tomorrow!!!

Day 4, L.O.D.

A few years ago, Chase begged to have a pottery wheel that he came across at Michael's for Christmas. I was skeptical, what about the mess, what if it gets in the carpet? What the heck, your only a kid once, right? So Auntie made Chase's wish come true, a toy pottery wheel and some clay-wooohooooo! I remember this day very clearly, after reading the directions entirely, installing massive amounts of D batteries, we cracked open a bag of clay. LET THE CREATING BEGIN!! You can clearly see the concentration on his face as he worked the clay into a small bowl. I am suprised that his tongue isn't sticking out just a little as it tends to do, LOL! He ended up with a couple different creations which we let dry for a week or so and he painted and gave away as gifts. I love seeing Chase's creative side and all the fun things he comes up with!

Day 3

Wow, I am loving having something fun to blog about every day! This is a continuation from yesterday's, had too many pictures for a two pager so I had to do a third page. Sorry the pictures aren't a little brighter, I haven't quite figured out how to adjust them without the aid of snapfish or photo bucket. (pulled them straight off the memory card.)

Not loving the 30 degree weather this morning, stay warm and enjoy the sunshine coming through the windows!!! Until tomorrow....

day 2, layout of the day

A couple of years ago we had the opportunity to attend and experience first hand what my little sister does for a living. And I can say absolutely, that it is her passion-not just her job. We really enjoyed seeing her do what she loves, and the kids just had a blast! I really had fun with this layout, the scrolls and flowers make me happy everytime I look at it. Here's hoping you all have a happy day!

Monday, Monday

Had a lovely, refreshing weekend-took friday off to scrapbook-HOORAY! So instead of displaying a slide show of all the stuff I finished (thats right-FINISHED) I figured I would draw it out over a couple of days for your enjoyment, LOL! So this is probably my most favorite layout of the weekend, and I am sure after looking at it you will agree. Seriously-how can you not love a naked newborn baby???? Very happy with the end result, I think I did baby Aiden justice on this one..

So, hope you all have a great monday, even though it sucks to come back to work. I know Jill will agree with me that we would both just prefer to keep scrappin'!!!! See you tomorrow with another layout!

Happy Birthday prinCESS!!

The Importance of a Sister by Shiv Sharma

A sister is someone who loves you from the heart,
No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart.
She is a joy that cannot be taken away,
Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.

A friend who helps you through difficult times,
Her comforting words are worth much more than dimes.
A partner who fils your life with laughs and smile,
These memories last for miles and miles.

When she is by your side, the world is filled with life.
When she is not around, your days are full of strife.
A sister is a blessing, who fills your heart with love,
She flies with you in life with the beauty of a dove.

A companion to whom you can express your feelings,
She doesn't let you get bored at family dealings.
Whether you are having your ups or downs,
She always helps you with a smile and never frowns.

With a sister you cannot have a grudge,
She is as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.
Having a sister is not just a trend,
It is knowing you can always turn to her, your best friend.

Happy 33rd Birthday prinCESS, hope you have the most fabulous day EVER!!

Love Jeffier

Happy St. Patrick's Day, and happy, happy birthday to my grandmother June Ludwig who turns 88 years old today. This photo was taken while visiting my grandmothers brother last fall in Springfield and I am amazed at how much more mature Chase looks in just a few months! I am also amazed at how young my grandmother looks at almost 90 years old. My grandparents reside in Ft Worth these days so I won't be able to see her in person, but you can bet I will call and talk to her later today.
Looking forward to getting some layouts and projects done this weekend at the crop Amy & Summer are putting on. I actually dreamed last night that I went to work friday morning before the crop and got stuck and never made it. Then on saturday I got there and had total block, couldn't get anything done. Think I am stressing too much? Think I need some time off work? Me too.....

we were AT the game...

So we suprised Chase this weekend with tickets to the KU basketball game as an early birthday present. And boy was he ever suprised!! I had such a hard time keeping a secret for the last couple of weeks, but it was well worth the wait. And the fact that we had an extra ticket so that we could take my sister with us was a fantastic bonus, she schooled Chase on all the traditions and things that happen during the game. For a while they had us worried, but they pulled it out and won the championship-thank the lord!!! My sister informed Chase that since they won, he would be allowed to attend another game, LOL! (she was joking of course-I think...) And after the game we drove back to KC, picked up the boys-Grandpa, Aaron, and Aidan and went for BBQ at the one and only Oklahoma Joe's. Home of my favorite sandwich, the Z-Man. It is a rawther large brisket sandwich topped with BBQ sauce, BBQ mayo, and onion rings. Jeez, my mouth is watering just thinking about it, and I just got done eating lunch!! So we had a wonderful weekend, got to see the 'Hawks win, got to see Grammy and Grandaddy, got to see my sister, and most importantly, got to hug and kiss on her baby boy!!!!
